Real-Time Election Results: SEC Primary Election Night Featured
If you’re looking for up-to-the-minute results from Alabama’s primary election, you’ll be able to get just that this year. Election night results will be available online, in real time, for the first time ever.
The Office of the Secretary of State is conducting a new project to collect and report results for Alabama’s primary election – one which will offer up results to everyone quickly, once the polls close. The election night results will be reported to the Secretary of State’s website at alabamavotes.gov.
After the polls have closed on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m., the first results will be electronically transmitted to the Office of the Secretary of State and streamed to the website. Polls do not close until 7:00 p.m. CST, and election results will be displayed and updated as precincts begin to report. This will include, and is not limited to, presidential primary results, federal, state and local elections, as well as all amendments.
“For the first time in the history of our state, all 67 counties have committed to participate in our election night reporting,” said Secretary of State John Merrill. “This will be a great resource for our citizens by ensuring the information is readily available. I want to thank Alabama’s Probate Judges and other county officials for their partnership with this project. This launch would not have been possible without their full support and outstanding leadership.”
