Great Upcoming Food Festivals in Northern, Central and West Alabama

21 Apr 2015

By Chloe Monte

Who doesn’t love a great food festival? Fortunately for those of us who live in Alabama, we’ve got a ton of great ones to enjoy. These are some of my favorites – though it can be tough to choose. From barbecue in Huntsville and Birmingham to excellent food and wine in T-Town (and beyond), mark your calendars and prepare to be amazed.

West Alabama Food & Wine Festival

May 7, 2015 – Tuscaloosa

The West Alabama Food & Wine Festival is held at the Hotel Capstone in Tuscaloosa. The food and drinks are provided by local restaurants, including: Cypress Inn, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, Druid City Brewery, Epiphany, Kozy’s Restaurant, Hotel Capstone, Spirits Wine Cellar, and more!  The proceeds benefit the West Alabama American Red Cross.  Every year this festival gets better and better and you do not want to miss it!  Tickets are available on their site.

Magic City Art Connection

April 25-26, 2015 – Birmingham

This is Birmingham’s largest festival.  Held in Linn Park, there are artists everywhere!   The festival celebrates visual art, food, wine, and craft beer, plus dance and music. Cork’s and Chef’s is the place where art, food, beer and wine meet!  Tickets are available via their website. This is quite the celebration – you should come and check it out!

Whistle Stop BBQ Weekend

May 2, 2015 – Huntsville

There is a CornHole tournament.  Need I say more?  Well, for those not into the bag toss’n fun time, there will be live music and a People’s Choice Tasting.  Come on down and try some of the South’s best BBQ!  Tickets and photos from last year’s event can be found on their website.

Bob Sykes BBQ & Blues Festival

May 30, 2015 – Birmingham

Barbecue and blues are a great combo, so start planning to swing by this year’s Bob Sykes BBQ & Blues Festival.  Don’t forget to bring a chair or blanket so you and your entire family can sit back and enjoy listening to talented local and national blues musicians.  Bob Sykes Bbq and Blues Festival is proud to have earned a spot on AL.COM’s Top 25 Birmingham food festivals and events to put on the 2015 calendar.   For more information, check out their website.
