Billy Donovan praises Alex Caruso for constantly making winning plays

There are numbers that show that Alex Caruso is very good at basketball. On the other hand, All-Defensive First Team member is more than just a number to Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan.

The intangibles make him stand out as an important part of the Bulls team, which seems to be getting better despite all the losses they've had all season.

The Bulls probably won't win an NBA title any time soon, but Caruso's defence could help them make a run in the playoffs.

During Chicago's recent three-game winning streak, he played great defence, and he showed fans how great he is again late in the game against the Golden State Warriors.

When the score was tied and the Warriors had the ball, Caruso called Draymond Green for an offensive foul. It was Green's sixth foul of the game, which took him out of the game.

The play was crucial, since it diminished the defensive capabilities of Golden State, which ultimately resulted in the Bulls securing a victory by a score of 125-122.

I believe you need a full complement of players who can play their own style, and his is so unique. Nobody on our team does that, and perhaps few in the league do what he does.”

In addition, Donovan mentioned that the fact that Caruso accepts and takes pleasure in his role is what makes him even more exceptional in the current NBA landscape.

Caruso's defensive effort and tenacity may not make the top plays in a league where scoring is the spotlight, but his teammates notice them.

You don't take it for granted that he'll do a great job on defence every game, but when it does, Nikola Vucevic said, "That's normal, that's Alex, that's what he does.

"He is responsible for several very significant plays. That is a significant advantage for us to have on the defensive end of the field.

Because of his communication, he is of great assistance to us and covers a great deal of ground. We are aware that we can depend on him at any time of the day or night, and that is a tremendous asset to have.
