Chocolate Banana Oatmeal Breakfast Bars Recipe

Muesli, bananas and chocolate make excellent breakfast bars! When overripe bananas are around, make them!  

– 3 large ripe bananas 1 ½ cups mashed – ½ cup creamy almond butter * – 1 1/2 cups quick oats – ⅓ cup cocoa powder – 1/2 cup to 1 cup chocolate chips optional** – ¼ tsp sea salt to taste Optional Additions: – 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup – 1 tsp pure vanilla extract – 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Setting the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and putting parchment paper in an 8-inch square baking pan makes it ready to bake.

Mashing ripe bananas in a large bowl makes them smooth. Add almond butter and pure maple syrup if desired. Wet substances should be carefully mixed.

Add cinnamon immediately. Add quick oats, cocoa powder, sea salt, and cinnamon to the bowl. Mix everything for a thick batter.

If you're adding chocolate chips, mix them in. Place the chocolate banana oat mix in the baking dish that has been made and level it out.

If you want, you can add more chocolate chips on top. Place on the middle shelf of a hot oven and bake for 12 to 16 minutes, or until the sides are hard. I bake mine for 15 minutes.

Before cutting and serving, let the chocolate muesli bars cool to room temperature.
