Chocolate Chip Cake Easiest Recipe Ever

This delightful Chocolate Chip Cake contains vanilla cake layers with chocolate chips, shaved chocolate buttercream, and chocolate chip garnish.  

Ingredient

For the cake – 2 & 2/3 cups all-purpose flour – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt – 10 ounces mini semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1 cup unsalted butter softened – 1 cup granulated sugar – 3/4 cup light brown sugar packed – 4 large eggs room temperature – 1 tablespoon vanilla extract – 1 & 1/4 cups buttermilk room temp For the frosting – 1 & 1/2 cups unsalted butter softened – 6 cups powdered sugar – 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt – 1 tablespoon vanilla extract – 2 tablespoons milk – 1/4 cup chocolate shaving

Introduction 

Spray and preheat two 9-inch cake pans to 350°F. Pan bottoms with parchment. Reserve the baking-sprayed paper. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.

Put little chocolate chips in a bigger bowl. Reserve 1-1 ½ teaspoons of flour mixture with chocolate chips. Use the paddle attachment to cream butter, granulated sugar,

and brown sugar in a stand mixer for 3 minutes. Stir in vanilla after each egg. Mix half the dry ingredients with the wet. Stir in half buttermilk.

As you add dry ingredients and buttermilk, scrape sides. Mix in chocolate chips. Fill two cake pans with batter. Make cakes uniformly cooked by spatulaing.  

Step 4

Bake for 22–28 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean. Moisture-rich batter needs longer baking than crumbs. Finish cooling cakes in pans.  

Step 5

Cool and frost cakes. Butter should be smooth in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a big basin with an electric hand mixer. Before adding powdered sugar,

mix well. To thicken, add all powdered sugar. Salt, vanilla, milk. Smoothly mix. Whip till foamy on medium-high for 3 minutes after mixing. Combine chocolate shavings. 

Step 7

Mixing seldom lowers breaking. Make the cake by removing the cakes from the pan and discarding the parchment. Flatten cakes by reducing domes.  

Step 8

One-cup icing bottom-side-down cake. One more cake icing. Lightly icing the cake with another cup creates crumb coat. chill 2 hours or overnight. Apply leftover frosting on cake. Little chocolates. Cut/serve.
