Delicious French Onion Dip Recipe

The finest chip dip to keep on hand is this French Onion Dip Recipe, which is creamy, flavorful, and delicious. Make your favorite dip at home instead than buying a can!  


– 2 tablespoons olive oil – 3 cups small-diced sweet onion – 1 teaspoon kosher salt – 1 teaspoon granulated sugar – 1/2 teaspoon black pepper – 1 & 1/2 cups mayonnaise – 8 ounces cream cheese softened – 1/2 cup sour cream – 1 clove garlic finely minced – fresh thinly sliced chives garnish, optional


Turn on the burner and bring a large skillet up to a temperature of medium. Immediately after the oil has reached the desired temperature, add the onion, salt,

sugar, and pepper, and whisk all of the ingredients together. In order to achieve a deep golden brown hue, the onions should be fried for twenty-five minutes,

with periodic stirring, until they reach the desired extent. When you are halfway through the cooking process, you should turn the heat down to a medium-low setting.

After the onions have reached room temperature, take them out of the pan and put them in a separate location. Put the mayonnaise, cream cheese, sour cream, and

garlic into a large bowl and mix them all together. To ensure that the mixture is totally smooth, whisk it with an electric hand mixer from start to finish.

When the onions have reached the desired temperature, add them to the bowl and thoroughly combine them. Wrap the bowl in a piece of plastic wrap and bring it to the top.

Make sure that you do not overlook this step and instead put it in the refrigerator for the entire night so that the flavors may come together.  

Step 7

Serve the dip in a plate with chips, crackers, or your favorite vegetables. You have all these alternatives. Chopped chives can be sprinkled on the meal.
