My go-to healthful, sweet-and-tangy treat is applesauce. Our homemade crock pot applesauce is simple!
Ingredient
– 1 & 1/2 pounds Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and cut into cube– 1 & 1/2 pounds Fuji apples peeled, cored, and cut into cube– 1/2 cup water– 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh squeezed– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon– ⅛ – ¼ cup light brown sugar packed, optional
Introduction
The apples should be placed in a slow cooker that has a capacity of between 6 and 8 quarts, and they should be cut into cubes before being in the slow cooker.
Step 1
In order to achieve a smooth consistency, cinnamon, water, and lemon juice should be added and then swirled together.
Step 2
It is imperative that you stir it on a regular basis in order to prevent it from burning at the edges. A low heat setting for five to six hours or a high heat setting for three to four hours should be used to cook it.
Step 3
Once the apples have reached a very soft stage, you can break them up using a potato masher or a fork. Both of these tools are possible.
Step 4
There is also the option of using an immersion blender to make the applesauce smooth, which is useful if you prefer chunky applesauce.
Step 5
You are asked to taste the mixture, and if you so choose, you can add brown sugar; I suggest adding up to ¼ cup of brown sugar. set it in a container that is airtight, and
Step 6
then set it in the refrigerator. This is the case regardless of whether you intend to serve it warm or allow it to get to room temperature.
