Ingredient
– 13.8 ounce can of pizza dough– 8 bun length hot dog– 4 quarts water– ⅔ cup baking soda– 2 tablespoons salted butter melted– 16 candy eyeballs– Mustard for serving– Ketchup for serving
Introduction
Heat the oven to 400°F. Put parchment paper on a baking pan. Spread pizza dough on a lightly floured surface.
Step 1
Make both sides even by cutting off the unequal ends. Divide the pizza crust width-wise into 8 equal pieces. Several times, we divided it in two.
Step 2
Wrap one crust dough strip around each hot dog to make a mummy. After wrapping all 8 hotdogs in dough ropes, boil 4 quarts of water in a large kettle.
Step 3
Slowly add baking soda to hot water. Water bubbles when added. Dip dough-wrapped hot dogs in baking soda and boil for 5 seconds until they float.
Step 4
Take them out using a slotted spoon. This must be done in batches to avoid crowding the pot. Place wrapped hot dogs on the sheet tray.
Step 5
Once all hot dogs are floating and positioned, bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. If using, brush with melted butter after baking.
Step 6
Apply mustard on the backs of the candy eyeballs and glue them to the dogs. Tucking them into dough can assist. Serve immediately with ketchup and mustard for dipping.
