Rich and fudgy homemade strawberry brownies are blended with jam and topped with fresh strawberries!
INGREDIENTS
– 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter– 3 ounces (85g) dark chocolate (about 70% cacao)– 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour– 1/2 cup (42g) unsweetened cocoa powder– 1/4 teaspoon salt– 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar– 2 large egg– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract– 1/2 cup chopped strawberries, plus more for topping the brownies*– 2 to 3 tablespoons strawberry jam, stirred well
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Heat the oven to 350°F. Parchment paper should overhang two edges of an 8-inch square baking pan. Grease the paper and vulnerable pan sections.
Step 2
Put butter and chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl. In 30-second increments, microwave at half-power until butter and chocolate melt when mixed. Let cool slightly.
Step 3
Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside. Mix sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl.
Step 4
Add sugar to chocolate and combine well. Add the flour mixture and stir well.
Mix in chopped strawberries.
Step 5
Place batter in pan and spread evenly. Drop jam over batter and stir with a thin knife into brownies. Additional strawberries can be added to the batter.
Step 6
Bake for 35–40 minutes until a pick inserted into the center comes out with crumbs. The brownies should cool completely on a wire rack.
Step 7
The overhanging liner helps pull brownies off the pan and onto a cutting board for squares. Fudgy, sticky brownies may need a quick refrigeration before cutting.
