Homemade Easy Focaccia Recipe

Simple focaccia recipe is almost infallible! Its garlic and rosemary tastes make it irresistible. 


For the dough: – 2 & 1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast (1 packet) – 1 cup warm water (115*F) – 2 tablespoons honey – 1/4 cup olive oil divided – 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese – 1 teaspoon kosher salt – 2 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour For assembly: – 1/4 cup unsalted butter very soft – 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves – 5 tablespoons olive oil divided – 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese – 1 teaspoon flake sea salt – 3 cloves garlic thinly sliced


Mix yeast, water, and honey in a large dish. Frothing takes 5-10 minutes. Dead yeast requires replacing if not frothy. Stir in 2 tablespoons olive oil, cheese, and salt. 

Step 1

Mix flour into bowl until shaggy. Hand-knead it in the basin into a ball. Coat dough with remaining olive oil in basin. Wrap in plastic and chill overnight to rise and rest.  

Step 2

Brush half the butter on a 9x13 baking dish the next morning. Fork-deflate dough multiple times. Put dough in baking dish. Spread and brush remaining butter on dough.  

Step 3

Cover it with a tea towel or plastic wrap and let it double in size at room temperature for 2-4 hours. Preheat oven to 425°F.  

Step 4

After adding rosemary leaves, deflate the dough with your fingers. Coat dough with 2 tablespoons olive oil and a pastry brush. Add parmesan and salt flakes.  

Step 5

Bake 20–25 minutes till golden. As bread bakes, toast garlic oil. In a small skillet, thinly slice garlic and add the remaining 3 tablespoons olive oil. 

Step 6

For 15 minutes, stir occasionally over medium-low heat to roast garlic without burning. Brush or pour garlic oil on baked bread, let it cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then cut and serve.
