Injury Report: Hawks vs Cavaliers

_______________________

The injury report, which was now finally made public, was going to be extremely important for the game that will take place tonight between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks.

Onyeka Okongwu, Trae Young, and Kobe Bufkin (left big toe pain) all miss tonight's Hawks game. Right knee injury management is likely for De'Andre Hunter.

The Cavs will miss Donovan Mitchell, Ty Jerome, Max Strus, and Evan Mobley. The Hawks took a 33-15 lead over a New York team missing four players Friday night.

The Knicks closed the distance in the second and third quarters, but Atlanta won a much-needed win. The offense looks bad without Trae Young, but Jalen Johnson, De'Andre Hunte, and Dejounte Murray played well.

Young got hurt, but Murray has been steady since then. He almost had a triple-double last night against the Knicks. Tonight, he will have to lead the Hawks against one of the best teams in the NBA.

Jalen Johnson rebounded well yesterday night after two disappointing games against Brooklyn. Johnson got 26 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in a great performance. Johnson delivered last night to give Atlanta more games like this while Young is sidelined.

Starting pitcher Bogdan Bogdanovic must establish his groove. Bogdanovic has had a great season, but his offense has struggled in the past five games. Last night, he shot 1-6 and scored five points.

Saddiq Bey scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds against the Knicks. Bey helps the Hawks be one of the NBA's finest offensive rebounders. Bey compensates for his defensive weaknesses by shooting and rebounding well.

It's possible De'Andre Hunter is playing his greatest basketball. Hunter scored another 20 points off the bench on 9-14 shooting. Hunter has been excellent off the bench for a month.

It's possible that Atlanta needs more from the rest of their group of bench players. Yesterday evening, Trent Forrest, Garrison Matthews, and Bruno Fernando scored a combined total of 12 points collectively.
