Magic Johnson Salutes LeBron James After Witnessing Historic 40,000th Point in Person

NBA legend LeBron James set a new record by scoring 40,000 points, making him the first player in NBA history to do so. He made the basket on Saturday night at Arena against the Denver Nuggets.

Magic Johnson, a former great NBA player, was there. After James did well, Johnson went on social media to show him some love.

You are the first and only player in NBA history to score 40,000 points. Johnson wrote on X, which used to be Twitter. "I'm so glad I was here to see something so amazing!"

"I love being here tonight because I got to see LeBron break Kareem's record and I was the one who gave it to Kramer the first time!" Johnson wrote.

Now we need the Lakers to win to make LeBron's night even better!"The Nuggets won the game 124–114, which was bad for James and Johnson.

The Lakers picked Johnson with the first pick in the 1979 NBA draft. He won five titles with Los Angeles. He was an NBA All-Star 12 times and the league's Most Valuable Player three times (1987, 1989, 1990).

Magic is ahead of James in all but one of those stats. James has won four NBA titles so far in his distinguished career.

He has scored 40,000 points, been to an NBA record 20 All-Star games, and been named league MVP four times (2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013).
