Maple and Mascarpone Fruit Tart Recipe

Black Section Separator

This is a very easy puff pastry tart that only needs four ingredients. You can use any fruit you like, like plums, apples, pears, figs, or even raspberries.

INGREDIENTS

– 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed – 4 ounces mascarpone cheese (half of an 8 ounce tub) – 6-8 plums (I like to have extra just in case) – 1/4 cup maple syrup (the real stuff) GARNISH – confectioners sugar – ice cream

Warm the oven up to 400F. Put the puff pastry sheet on a piece of parchment paper and roll it out slowly into a square that is a little longer.

Step 1

INSTRUCTIONS

Make a circle about an inch and a half wide around the outside and spread mascarpone cheese over it. Cut the plums in half, take out the pits, and then cut each half into thin slices that stay together.

Step 2

See my pictures for help putting the sliced halves on the tart. Roll the dough's sides up slowly to cover the fruit and make a crust.

Step 3

If the fruit isn't shiny, brush it with maple syrup. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the fruit is glossy.

Step 4

In the event that you desire, dust the cake with powdered sugar, then cut it into squares and serve it with ice cream.
