Suns Avoid Collapse, Defeat Raptors

As a result of their victory over the Toronto Raptors, the Phoenix Suns were able to avoid another potential collapse in the second half.  

THE PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns came close to losing several times in the second half, but in the end they beat the Toronto Raptors 120–113 to move their record to 37–26 on the season.   

They have come out of the All-Star break with a record of 4-4 and have tied the season series at 1-1. This comes after they lost their first game of the season to Toronto earlier in the year.   

The Suns took a 38-25 lead after Grayson Allen scored 21 points and made all eight of his three-point shots. Toronto only made 9-25 shots from the pitch.   

At the end of the first half, Nurkic finished with 12 rebounds, which allowed Phoenix to preserve a 67-53 advantage going into the locker room.   

Kevin Durant (11) was the only other player for Phoenix to score in the double digits, and Allen was the only other player to do it alongside him.   

In terms of second-chance points, the Suns led Toronto by a score of 15-0, while Gary Trent Jr. led the Raptors in scoring with 16 points. 

Prior to the Suns eventually scraping their way to an 89-82 advantage heading into the final quarter of action, the Raptors surged out of the gates in the second half and brought Phoenix's lead down to three.   

However, the Suns eventually managed to pull away and take the lead. During the third quarter, Beal was the only other member of the Phoenix team to score, while Durant scored 16 points to keep the club in the game.  

On the other hand, the Suns were eventually able to overtake the competition and grab the lead. The only other member of the Phoenix team to score during the third quarter was Beal.
