The Best Crispy Fried Battered Chicken Tenders Recipe

This is one of our favorite Battered Chicken Tenders recipes. Imagine crispy, golden-brown chicken strips with soft, flavorful insides! 

Ingredient

– 1 pound chicken tenderloin – 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder – 1/4 teaspoon season salt – 1/4 teaspoon onion powder – 1/4 teaspoon paprika – 1/4 tespoon black pepper – 1 1/4 Cup all-purpose flour – 1 teaspoon baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1 Cup cold water – peanut oil for frying or vegetable oil – Kosher salt for sprinkling

Introduction 

In a large bowl, mix chicken tenders with garlic powder, seasoned salt, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper. Mix to coat everything.  

Step 1

Mix in flour, baking powder, and soda. Use this mixture to coat chicken. Add cold water and stir by hand until a batter forms, allowing lumps. (Add water slowly if needed. 

Step 2

More may be needed depending on weather. It should resemble pancake batter. Oil should go up 2-3 inches in a heavy-bottom skillet with deep sides. 

Step 3

Heat oil over medium heat until 350°F. Put the chicken strips in the pan one by one, not too many. Let them not touch. Flip with tongs after 4 minutes of frying. 

Step 4

Chicken is done when golden brown and 165°F within. Approximately 8-10 minutes. Fried chicken in batches. Place the fried chicken on a wire rack over a pan to drain excess oil.  

Step 5

Sprinkle some kosher salt on the chicken immediately. Keep a little oil on the outside to stick. Continue until all chicken is cooked.  

Step 6

If you have many tenders, keep the fried chicken in a low-temperature oven. Have fun with your favorite sides and sauces!
