Best Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars Easiest Recipe Ever

These Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars are your favorite cookie in bar form, frosted with light and fluffy buttercream. Simple, lovely, and irresistible.  

Ingredient

– 3 & 3/4 cups all-purpose flour – ¾ teaspoon baking powder – Pinch of salt – 1 cup unsalted butter softened – 1 & ½ cups granulated sugar – 3 large eggs – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract For the frosting: – ½ cup unsalted butter softened – 2 cups powdered sugar – Pinch of salt – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1 tablespoon milk – Food coloring of your choice optional – Sprinkles optional

Introduction 

Heat the oven to 375°F. To prepare, line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper or foil and spray with baking spray. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl; set aside. 

Step 1

Cream room-temperature butter and sugar on medium speed in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or an electric mixer and a large bowl until light and fluffy. It turns pale yellow in 3 minutes. 

Step 2

Add eggs one at a time until combined. Mix vanilla in. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, without dry spots. Do not overmix. 

Step 3

I use my hands to press sugar cookie dough into the baking dish bottom. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the edges are lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.  

Step 4

Cool completely on a wire rack. While the cookie cools, whip the butter in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a large bowl with a hand mixer until smooth to make the frosting. 

Step 5

Mix in powdered sugar. Add salt, vanilla, and milk and mix well. Scrape sides as needed. Whisk on medium-high speed for 3 minutes until fluffy;  

Step 6

add food coloring if using and fully mix until you reach your desired frosting color. 

Step 7

Use a spatula to stir in one last time to remove any white streaks. Frost and sprinkle the cookie after it cools. Cut 15 bars and serve.
