Are Apple Pie Egg Rolls familiar? Imagine a crunchy egg roll wrapper, faultless deep-frying, and delicious cinnamon sugar atop your favourite apple pie filling. There's no greater!
Ingredient
– 1 tablespoon water– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour– 7 egg roll wrapper– 21 ounces apple pie filling– 3/4 cup granulated sugar– 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon– caramel sauce for dipping
Introduction
Whisk water and all-purpose flour in a small bowl until smooth. Set aside. Place an eggroll wrapper with the sharp end facing you on a clean work area.
Step 1
Put ⅓ cup of apple pie filling in the bottom third of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling. Apply flour mixture to wrapper edges with your finger.
Step 2
Cover the filling with both wrapping edges. Roll tightly until you make a log and seal. Place on a plate while rolling the remaining egg rolls.
Step 3
Preheat a deep fryer or Dutch oven with 4 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F. In a small, shallow bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
Step 4
Slowly place a few egg rolls into the hot oil, not crowding the fryer, and fry until golden brown, 3–4 minutes. Be sure to flip them often to brown evenly.
Step 5
Remove one eggroll with tongs and drain excess oil. Roll it in cinnamon sugar immediately.
Step 6
Put the coated eggroll on a wire rack over a sheet tray to catch any cinnamon sugar that falls off. Continue with the remaining eggrolls and serve warm with caramel sauce.
