Chocolate Chip Cookie Stuffed Brownies Recipe

Take a bite of these cookies and be shocked! In the middle, there's a chocolate chip cookie!


FOR THE BROWNIES: – 9 ounces bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped – 3/4 cup unsalted butter – 3/4 cup granulated sugar – 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar – 3 large egg – 1 & 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract – 1 & 1/2 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon salt FOR THE COOKIES: – 1 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon baking powder – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 3/4 cup granulated sugar – 1 large egg – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract – 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chip


Step 1

MAKE BROWNIES: Preheat oven to 350°. Prepare a 9-inch square baking pan. Put chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. 

Step 2

In 30-second increments, microwave at half-power until butter and chocolate melt when mixed. Let cool slightly.

Step 3

Mix sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl. Mix in the cooled chocolate.

Step 4

Add flour and salt. Mix briefly. Half the mixture should cover the bottom of the pan. Set aside.

Step 5

Making cookies: Mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Beat butter and sugar until frothy using a medium-speed electric mixer. Stir in egg and vanilla.

Step 6

Lower mixer speed. Add flour mixture slowly, mixing just until incorporated. Mix in chocolate chips.

Step 7

Dollop tablespoons of cookie dough over brownie batter in pan. Spread the dough over the batter gently, avoiding disturbing the brownie layer.

Step 8

Drizzle remaining brownie batter over cookie layer by tablespoonfuls. Spread the batter over the dough gently, without disturbing the cookie layer.

Step 9

Bake until a pick inserted into the center comes out clean, 38–42 minutes. Cut brownies into bars after 15 minutes of cooling in the pan.
