Black Section Separator

Baked Tortellini is warm, cosy, and flavorful with store-bought and handmade ingredients. New family weeknight staple.

Ingredient

– 1/2 pound lean ground beef – 1/2 pound ground Italian sausage – 24 ounces jarred marinara sauce – 20 ounces refrigerated cheese tortellini – 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided – 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese divided – Fresh chopped parsley for garnish optional

Introduction

Warm the oven up to 375°F. Spray cooking spray on an 11x7-inch baking dish and set it away.

Step 1

Place the ground beef, Italian sausage and onions in a Dutch oven or large saucepot. Crumble the meat and cook it over medium-high heat.

Step 2

Break up the meat as you cook it for about 10 minutes, or until there is no more pink meat and the onions are clear. Remove any extra fat from the pot.

Step 3

Add the tomato sauce and mix it in with the meat. After you add the tortellini, cook for three more minutes while stirring every now and then to warm them up.

Step 4

Add half of the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese and mix it in until it's all mixed in. Put the mix into the baking dish that has been prepared. Add the rest of the cheeses on top.

Step 5

Cover with foil that doesn't stick or spray cooking spray on a piece of foil and place it on top of the dish spray-side down.

Step 6

After 20 minutes, take the lid off and bake for another 15 minutes, until it's warm and bubbly. Serve right away, and if you want, sprinkle with parsley.

Step 7
