There is a brownie for people who really love nuts, and these Extra Nutty Brownies are it!
INGREDIENTS
– 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter– 1 cup (170g) bittersweet chocolate– 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar– 2 large egg– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract– 1 teaspoon almond extract– 1/2 teaspoon salt– 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour– 2 cups (about 240g) chopped nut
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square pan. Put butter and chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
Step 2
Heat at half-power for 30 seconds until butter and chocolate melt when swirled. Stir until smooth and complete. Let cool slightly.
Step 3
Mix sugar, eggs, extracts, and salt. Add chocolate mixture and blend well. Mix in the flour just until incorporated.
Step 4
Reserve 3–4 tablespoons of nuts for topping. Mix remaining nuts into batter.
Step 5
Place batter in pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle the reserved nuts on top and gently press them into the batter.
Step 6
Bake 30–35 minutes until brownies are set and a pick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool in pan before cutting into bars.
