Do you want to create homemade tortilla chips? Our simple recipe can help. 2 ingredients, crunchy, and delicious—only homemade can compare!
Ingredient
– 15 yellow or white corn tortilla– peanut oil or other oil, for frying– 3/4 teaspoon fine salt
Introduction
The oil should be heated at 350 degrees Fahrenheit in a deep fryer or in a heavy-bottomed skillet with deep sides and three inches of oil.
Step 1
Create triangles out of the tortillas by stacking five tortillas on top of each other and then cutting them into sixths. Use the remaining tortillas to repeat the process.
Step 2
After adding approximately ten chips at a time to the hot oil, continue to move them around so that they brown equally on both sides.
Step 3
It takes about three to four minutes for the chips to become crispy. In the vicinity of the edges, they will have a golden brown coloration.
Step 4
After removing any extra oil from the chips, place them in a big bowl after first placing them on a plate that has been lined with paper towels.
Step 5
To ensure that the chips are completely covered in the salt, sprinkle them with a small amount of salt and then toss them about.
Step 6
Take the remaining tortillas and arrange them in a single layer on a wire rack that is placed on a sheet tray.
Step 7
Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas. You can use it in recipes or pair it with your favorite dips.
