In spite of the fact that the Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 124–114 on Saturday evening, the game was nonetheless significant enough to warrant celebration in certain aspects.

During the second quarter of the game, the forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James, reached a milestone that no other NBA player has ever accomplished: scoring his 40,000th point of his career.

James, who will one day be inducted into the Hall of Fame, acknowledged his accomplishment by imitating one of the most iconic images in the history of sports.

The incident spurred more musings on James's enduring greatness at the age of 39.James struck a stance while holding a piece of paper that bore the numerical value "40,000" and the date "March 2, 2024."

It was clear that the reference was to Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game against the New York Knicks on March 2, 1962, for the Philadelphia Warriors.

James has paved the way for NBA greatness, just like Chamberlain did 62 years ago. And like Chamberlain, James might not be done making history just yet.
