Salted Honey Butter Jalapeño Cheddar Rolls Recipe

– 3 1/2 – 4 cups all-purpose flour – 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) Rapid Rise yeast – 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt – 2 cups grated cheddar cheese – 1-2 jalapeños, seeded, if desired – 1 cup warm whole milk – 3 tablespoons honey – 4 tablespoons salted butter – 1 large egg – HONEY BUTTER – 6 tablespoons salted butter – 3 tablespoons honey – Flaky sea salt

Mix flour, yeast, and salt in a stand mixer. Add cheese and jalapeños. Stir with a fork.

Add heated milk, honey, egg, and butter. Mix flour in with the dough hook for 4-5 minutes. Add the remaining 1/4–1/2 cup flour if the dough is sticky.

Cover the bowl and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes or many hours.

To make honey butter. Mix butter, honey, and a touch of salt in a small bowl.

Heat the oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9x9-inch baking dish with grease. Dust your work surface lightly with flour. Turn, punch, and divide the dough in half.

Roll each strip into a coil and place seam-side down in the baking dish. Cover the dish and allow the rolls puff up for 30 minutes. You can also refrigerate the rolls overnight.

Bake the rolls till golden brown, 20–25 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with remaining honey butter. Serve them heated with flaky sea salt after separating.
