This homemade brownie brittle is perfect for chocolate lovers with a crispy brownie foundation and small chocolate chips in every bite!
INGREDIENTS
– 3 ounces (85g) bittersweet chocolate– 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter– 3/4 cup (90g) all-purpose flour– 1/4 cup (21g) unsweetened cocoa powder– 1/4 teaspoon baking soda– 1/4 teaspoon salt– 2 large egg white– 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract– 1/4 to 1/3 cup mini chocolate chip
INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325°F. Prepare a 10" x 15" jelly roll pan* with parchment paper and mild oil.
Step 2
Put chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat at half-power for 30 seconds until butter and chocolate melt when swirled. Cool gently after stirring until smooth.
Step 3
Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. Whisk egg whites in a large bowl until frothy.
Step 4
Mix in sugar and vanilla. Add the cooled chocolate mixture. Stir in the flour mixture last.
Step 5
Evenly distribute brownie batter in the pan. Sprinkle chocolate chunks on top.
Bake brownies till hard, 25–30 minutes.
Step 6
Pan-cool on a wire rack. Move the brownies from the pan to a cutting board to break or cut.
