Sixers’ Injured All-Star Spotted Working Out Before Pelicans Matchup

_______________________

On Friday, Tyrese Maxey, a guard with the Philadelphia 76ers, resumed his on-court training activity.

It appears that Tyrese Maxey is getting closer and closer to making his way back into the lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The experienced guard was told earlier this week that he had a concussion. Maxey slipped and fell into a defender during last Sunday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. He started to show signs of a concussion days later.

It was first thought that Maxey would play for the Sixers on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets. He was instead marked as "out" and sent back to Philadelphia.

A matchup between the Sixers and the Memphis Grizzlies took place the following evening. Prior to the game.

Sixers head coach Nick Nurse noted that Maxey needed to pass the concussion protocol of the National Basketball Association (NBA) before he could return to action. By Friday, Maxey had not yet reached her readiness

For the third time in a row, Maxey was unable to participate in the game that was scheduled to take place against the New Orleans Pelicans.

After the 76ers' morning shootaround on Friday, Maxey was spotted getting up shots, which is a positive sign that he is making progress in his recovery.

Maxey was seen working in more than just the post-shoot-around session during which she was observed.

Despite the fact that Maxey was expected to miss the game against the Pelicans on Friday, he went ahead and participated in a warmup workout before the game happened.

Sixers head coach Nick Nurse stated before the game that Maxey was still going through the concussion protocol. At this point, the team doesn't know when the All-Star will be back.

For Maxey, the earliest possible opportunity to put on a uniform is on Sunday, when the Sixers travel to New York to play the Knicks. In the event that he is still not clear to play by that time.

Maxey will be looking ahead to the next Tuesday night, which is when the Sixers will compete against the Knicks for the second game in a row at that time.
