Soft Garlic Herb Cheddar Cheese Bread Recipe

– 3/4 cup warm whole milk – 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast – 2 tablespoons honey – 3 large egg – 3 1/2 – 4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling – 1 teaspoon kosher salt – 2 cups shredded cheddar – 1 cup shredded mozzarella – 1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese – 1/3 cup chopped Italian herbs such as sage, oregano, basil, and thyme – 2 cloves garlic, grated

Mix milk, yeast, and honey in a dough hook-equipped stand mixer. Wait 5-10 minutes for bubbly top. Add eggs, 3 1/2 cups flour, and salt.

Mix flour with the dough hook for 4-5 minutes until well mixed. If the dough is still sticky, add 1/2 cup flour and more as required until smooth.

Leave the bowl covered with plastic wrap at room temperature for an hour to double in size.

Mix cheeses, herbs, and garlic in a bowl. Punch the dough down and roll it into a 12 x 18-inch rectangle on a lightly floured board.

Evenly sprinkle cheese mix on dough. Roll the dough into a log tight from the long edge nearest to you. Seal the edge by pinching.

Cutting the dough log in half lengthwise with a sharp knife, leave a little part at one end untouched (see photo). Flip the halves to see the filling.

Cross and twist the dough ropes until you get a long, twisted dough. Form a dough round (picture above). Transfer carefully to a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Cover and wait 15 minutes. Heat the oven to 350°F. Bake the bread till golden brown, 30–35 minutes. Warmly slice and serve.
