What Jamie Foxx has said about his health scare: ‘Wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy’

The actor wrote on Instagram in July that he “went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through” and that he didn’t want his fans to see him “with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

At the Critics Choice Association’s Celebration of Cinema & Television: Honoring Black, Latino, and AAPI Achievements event in Los Angeles in December, Foxx accepted the Vanguard Award. It was his first big public appearance since going to the hospital. It was then that he admitted he “couldn’t actually walk” six months before.

He said, “It’s nice to be here.” “From now on, I value every moment. Something is different. It’s hard to know that it’s almost over, so I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy. The tube was there. I did not see the light. Also, that tube was hot. I have no idea where I was going.
