Instructions:

Preheat Oven and Prepare Pans:

  • Preheat your oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Be sure to grease two round cake pans measuring 9 inches in diameter and line the bottoms with parchment paper to make removing easier.

Make the Brownie Layers:

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan of medium size over a heat setting of medium.
  • Take the pan off the heat and mix in the sugar until it is completely incorporated. Please allow the mixture to cool down slightly.

Add Eggs and Vanilla:

  • After the butter mixture has been allowed to somewhat cool, whisk in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract, and continue to whisk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • Flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder should be mixed together in a separate basin and then sifted together.
  • Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients in a slow and steady manner until they are almost completely incorporated. Take care not to overmix the items.

Bake the Brownie Layers:

  • Distribute the brownie batter in an equitable manner among the cake pans that have been prepped.
  • A spatula should be used to smooth the tops.
  • For twenty-five to thirty minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out with a few wet crumbs, bake the cake in an oven that has been prepared.

  • Cool and Prepare Frosting:

Ten minutes should be spent allowing the brownie layers to cool in the pans, after which they should be transferred to a wire rack to finish cooling.

  • Prepare the chocolate ganache frosting while the brownie layers are sitting in the refrigerator to cool.

Make the Chocolate Ganache Frosting:

  • To bring the heavy cream to a simmer, heat it in a small saucepan over medium heat until it reaches the point where it is boiling.
  • Take the pan off the heat and add the butter and chocolate that has been chopped. After allowing it to settle for one to two minutes, whisk it until it is glossy and smooth.

Assemble the Cake:

  • Place one layer of brownies that has been allowed to cool on a cake stand or serving dish.
  • A thick layer of chocolate ganache frosting should be spread over the top of the cake.
  • The second layer of brownies should be placed carefully on top of the cake, and the remaining ganache should be used to frost the top and sides of the cake.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • The brownie cake should be cut into wedges before being served.
  • A scoop of vanilla ice cream or a cold glass of milk is the perfect accompaniment to this luscious dessert, which is best eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat!
