Instructions:

  • Put the warm water and the active dry yeast into a small basin and mix them together. Wait for approximately five minutes, or until the yeast has reached a frothy state.
  • Sugar, evaporated milk that has been warmed, eggs that have been beaten, and vanilla essence should be mixed together in a large mixing basin using a whisk.

  • To the mixture of wet ingredients, add the activated yeast mixture and stir until everything is thoroughly incorporated.
  • While whisking constantly, gradually incorporate the flour and salt into the wet components until a dough is formed.

  • After transferring the dough to a surface that has been lightly dusted with flour, knead it for approximately five to seven minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
  • Allow the dough to rise in a warm location for around one to two hours, or until it has doubled in size, after placing it in a bowl that has been greased and covering it with a clean dish towel.

  • Punch the dough down when it has risen, and then transfer it to a surface that has been dusted with flour. Spread the dough out to a thickness of approximately a quarter of an inch.
  • Prepare the dough by cutting it into squares or rectangles that are roughly two to three inches in size using a knife or a pizza cutter.

  • Prepare your air fryer by heating it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
  • Prepare the basket of the air fryer by lightly spraying it with cooking spray or misting it with oil.

  • Make sure that the pieces of dough that have been cut are not touching each other as you place them in the basket of the air fryer.
  • The beignets should be cooked in batches, if necessary, for around five to seven minutes, or until they are golden brown and puffed up, with a flip midway through the cooking process.

  • After they have finished cooking, take the beignets out of the air fryer and lay them on a wire rack so that they may cool down a little bit.
  • Powdered sugar should be generously sprinkled over the heated beignets before they are served.
