Instructions:

Prepare the Meatballs:

  • The ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper should be mixed together in a large mixing basin.
  • After thoroughly combining, mix.
The mixture should be shaped into meatballs with a diameter of around one to two inches, and then placed on a plate or baking sheet that has been prepared with parchment paper.

Brown the Meatballs:

  • Within a large skillet, bring the olive oil to a temperature of medium-high.
  • For approximately two to three minutes on each side, add the meatballs in batches and cook them until they are browned on both sides.
  • After the meatballs have been browned, place them in the slow cooker.

Prepare the Gravy:

  • Place the mushrooms and onions that have been sliced into the same skillet. Cook for around five to seven minutes, or until the vegetables have become softer and have a light brown colour.
  • Cook for a further one to two minutes after adding the minced garlic until the aroma is released.
  • Mix in the tomato paste, then continue to heat for one more minute.
  • Once the onion and mushroom mixture has been sprinkled with flour, continue to sauté it for one to two minutes while tossing it frequently.
  • As you pour in the beef stock in increments, scrape the bottom of the skillet to dislodge any bits of browned vegetables or meat.
  • Combine the Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. It should take about three to five minutes for the gravy to get slightly thicker.

Slow Cook the Meatballs:

  • After the gravy has been produced, pour it over the meatballs that are in the slow cooker and make sure they are completely covered.
  • Cover the pot and simmer the meatballs on low for four to six hours or on high for two to three hours, until they are soft and cooked all the way through.

Serve the Salisbury Steak Meatballs:

  • Spoon the meatballs onto a serving dish or individual plates once they have reached the desired level of doneness.
  • In the event that you so wish, garnish the meatballs with freshly chopped parsley after pouring the gravy over them.
  • If you want to make a dinner that is both comprehensive and gratifying, serve it hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
